Fun times in Deep Ellum and Dallas Pancakes and Booze Underground Art Show

Yesterday we returned home from a really fun couple of days. No eloquent way to say that. Just good fun roadtripping and we needed a nice break and to get away, even if just outside our own back yard a bit. We visited Dallas, specifically Deep Ellum and a bit of West End, culminating with the Pancakes and Booze Underground Art Show at Quixotic World Friday night.

I took a LOT of photos. We actually had the opportunity to stay with one of my friends and collectors and see the sights so we took in public art, murals, some yummy food, and visited the AMAZING aquarium too!

Monkeys!
cool metal sculptures as you enter Deep Ellum...
Public art, murals, and sculpture = EVERYWHERE... this was really nice to see. so many styles and talents...  an eclectic aesthetic and it was fun to just walk around in it.
The show! art! pancakes! booze!
a jeweler out of Texas -I purchased the most beautiful ring from her!
Notice her shirt that says "Support Local Art"? It's from
DNA Galleries here in OKC! just down the road from me! small world!
adored this work...
2 of my 3 pieces from the show. the bottom left piece is held on deposit now from the show, so she may have found a home!
I ADORE top hats! and there were lots of them- the space has a stage with lounges and beautiful red/black decor that fit goth/steampunk motifs well :)

mmm...pancake... we drank drinks faster than pics.
me with my pieces at the show- it was crowded/ and sooo hot but not an unhappy soul there!

My art from the show can be ordered as prints my Redbubble Print Shop. Currently selected originals are being held for new collectors but please email me if you have questions. (on larger originals I offer payment plans and layaway of course!) A few more photos from the Dallas World Aquarium are posted on my Facebook page.

Thanks for coming on vacation with me via my blog!
